This radio show has been doing the rounds recently and I thought I'd post it as it's well worth hearing. Supposedly from 1969, a radio show from Jamaica broadcast shortly after the death of Don Drummond.

This rhythm first appeared around July time but through unofficial channels only, sadly it hasn't had a proper release. It's a great rhythm with some superb cuts on it that really deserve to be heard. that's why we've done this mix.
Lutan Fyah - Never Once/Ginja - Damn Those People/Nature - Down With Corruption/Puddy Roots - Jah Soldier/ Step Out feat. Pia - No More Folly/Nah Switch - Love Life/Natty King - The Heat Is On/Teflon - Nuh Progress.
If/when these tunes get a proper release buy them. Beware of the MP3 sites that are selling these at the moment though - they're bootleggers.
This mix was distributed on CD at Notting Hill Carnival 2007. Limited to 500 copies that are all gone this is now presented online for those who missed out.
Featuring recently re-issued and long time unavailable tunes from the Greensleeves vaults.

Dance Crasher revisits the late 80's once more with a selection of tunes from producer Phillip "Fatis" Burrell. Fatis is best known for his late 90's Concious tunes when he had the likes of Sizzla and Luciano firmly in his camp. These tunes predate that era and present some of the earlier productions of Fatis on his Vena, Exterminator (and later Xterminator) labels from the later half of the 80's and early 90's.

Parish Records was run by Edgar White between 1986 and 1991. This mix features a number of tunes released on the label in that period.
Starting and ending with tracks by the hugely underated Everton Chambers alongside more well known names such as King Everald and Tiger all tunes are taken from 7" except for Inexperience Lover which is from a 12". There are some trademark rhythms here such as Stalag and Sleng Teng, others are one offs but no weaker because of that.
Enjoy.

In 2001 Pressue Sounds released the acclaimed Firehouse Revolution, a compilation of King Tubby's digital productions from between 1885 and 1989. Despite the popularity of this compilation it has very much stood alone with no further retrospectives of Tubby's work in this period being released except for a handfull of 7" singles. There are easily enough decent Tubby's tunes for a follow up - here are some of them.
